International Friendships - Reaching and discipling international students is possibly the most strategic missional opportunity today. 80% of international students come from the most unreached areas of the world, and they come with a desire to make new friends and an openness to learn new perspectives. However, over 70% never get invited into an American home during their time in the US. Imagine what it would mean to an international student to be welcomed by loving and caring Christians. Imagine them coming to know Christ and being discipled. Imagine them returning to their homes as missionaries in their own right—only instead of reaching people foreign to them, they already know the language and culture and have the connections.

This is why we seek to provide life-changing hospitality and friendship to international students—through acts of service, events, outings/trips, hosting dinners and discussions in our homes, Bible studies, and prayer. We work strategically to make the world feel at home and show and share God’s love globally—starting right here in West Michigan.

The Freedom Boys Ministry a ministry we helped establish in 2009, brings the love of Jesus to boys who live on the streets of Soroti, Uganda by rescuing and rehabilitating them with the goal of reintegrating them back with their families and communities as active disciples of Jesus Christ. I currently serve as an advisor, and in awareness and fund raising.

MentorMe of West Michigan hires, trains, guides, and supports Christian men and women to walk alongside, mentor, and disciple “at-risk” youth ages 10 to 21, 2-4 hours per week each. Our desire is to see “at-risk” youth become “at-promise” youth who love and live for Jesus. I serve on MentorMe’s Leadership Team and as a Guide to Mentors.

Freedom in Christ Ministries equips the Church in over 35 countries to bring transformation to every nation and generation with a highly effective discipleship approach and resources to making fruitful disciples who make a real difference. I promote and use this approach and these resources for discipleship movements among the relationships, networks, and partners God has placed before us.
