Many Christians carry a dream or desire that they believe God has given them, an idea that could have an impact on His Kingdom. But then the questions arise: Where do I start? Isn't this dream too big? Who am I to do this?
Paul Leistra knows from personal experience how that feels—and has made it his mission to guide others in this process. Through Koersmakers, he helps Christian pioneers shape their calling. People with a passion for God's Kingdom who want to take steps in that direction and could use some help. This brings beautiful initiatives to life that have an impact on this world and align with iTeams' mission.
“As a coach and visual thinker, I listen, pray with you, and map out your mission,” says Paul. “That provides overview, clarity, and direction.” His approach is a combination of coaching, (prophetic) prayer, entrepreneurship, and design thinking.
Paul helps pioneers discover how God wants to use their unique talents and where they can seek help from others. Because he is outside the immediate environment of these pioneers, a safe space is created where everything is allowed: big dreams, but also doubts and questions. From a growing network, he connects these Christian pioneers with each other and with other Christians who want to contribute: in prayer, knowledge, or practical support.
The text from Habakkuk 2:2 is an encouragement and guideline in his work:
“Write down this vision, engrave it clearly on tablets, so that it can be read quickly.”
One of his pioneers said, “This is what you do for me—you help me see my dream, find my way, and recognize God's work in it.”
Paul also coaches people on how to start their own businesses while receiving welfare benefits and is committed to his neighborhood, including hosting a weekly open soup night.
Paul is also actively involved in his home church, Evangeliegemeente Morgenstond Delft, from which he also receives spiritual nourishment and support.
