With your annual Dutch income tax declaration, you can state the donations transferred to Stichting International Teams (iTeams NL) as a donation. iTeams NL has ANBI status (not-for-profit status) and therefore donations are deductible. This reduces your taxable income and you pay less tax. If you give donations and do not receive an annual tax assessment from the tax authorities, you may be eligible for a tax refund. You can request a form from the tax authorities yourself. Please note, if you request a form, you are also required to submit it. More information can be found on the website of the Dutch tax authorities.

Proof

Keep a proof of what you have transferred. Your bank statement is sufficient for this. iTeams NL does not routinely send an overview of the donations you have submitted. Should you wish to receive an overview of your donations, this can be sent on request. You can request via email:

How much can I give to an ANBI?

There is currently no limit to the amount that you can give to an ANBI. The rate for gift tax to an ANBI has been at 0% for a few years. We therefore do not have to pay taxes on this. How much you can deduct is separate from that.

How much can I deduct?

The extent to which you can deduct this from your taxes depends on your income. The regular amount for an 'ordinary gift' is 10%, however, if you want to be able to deduct more than the usual 10%, then a contract for a periodic gift is a possibility. With this you commit yourself to continue to support the foundation in a period of 5 years.

If you want to know more, you can go to the official site of the Dutch tax authorities (in Dutch).
