One of the projects with which iTeams NL cooperates is the "Helping Hands" project in Athens, Greece. This project to refugees has been ongoing since 1990. It has since expanded greatly and focuses widely on work among the many refugees in Athens and throughout Greece.
The situation
Among the thousands of refugees in Greece there is much despair and many are left to their own devices. Helping Hands wants to offer people hope in these situations. The goal is to see human lives being transformed.
Practical help
Helping Hands works like a pivot in the professional field and mobilizes people for the various activities. Helping Hands has its own building where refugees are received. The foundation offers a lot of practical support. Attention is paid to medical assistance, many meals are provided and investments are made in education. There are also summer camps and where refugees have the chance to have a moment of relaxation from their often stressful refugee life.
